Effective annual interest rate and repayment methods
The effective annual interest rate (Consumer Protection Act 7:6.3) is the interest rate obtained by calculating the cost of credit as an annual rate on the amount of credit, taking repayments into account. It includes interest and other costs. Exact calculation method: Ministry of Justice decree 1123/2016. The calculator estimates the effective annual interest rate with the RATE function from the average instalment, including costs. The figure given by your bank may differ, and it is the official figure. Annuity: the instalment stays the same if the interest rate does not change. Equal principal: the principal repayment stays the same, the instalment decreases. Fixed instalment: the instalment stays the same even when the interest rate changes, and the loan term flexes. The calculations assume the interest rate stays the same. The example interest rates are not current market rates.
